Videos are a powerful way to showcase your brand and products, and Sampo offers multiple ways to integrate video content seamlessly into your store. You can add videos to various sections in the theme. Additionally, a dedicated Video section allows you to embed videos from your store’s files or external sources like YouTube and Vimeo.

How can I add a video to a specific page in my store?

There are multiple sections that support "Image or video" blocks, including Hero Promo, Image with Text, Promo Grid and Slideshow, and the FAQ section. These blocks allow you to add video files that have been uploaded to your store or upload new videos directly to your store’s files. To include a video, simply add an image or video block to one of these sections on the page where you'd like it to appear.

Additionally, there is a dedicated Video section, where you can add videos either from your store’s files or from external sources such as YouTube and Vimeo.

Can I use YouTube or Vimeo videos?

Yes, you can use YouTube or Vimeo videos in the Video section. However, when using video blocks in other sections, videos must be uploaded to your store’s files.

Is it possible to add a video to product media?

Yes, you can add videos to product media by editing the product directly in Shopify admin or by selecting videos from your store’s files to be shown with a specific product. Videos will appear alongside images and 3D models in the product's media gallery, allowing customers to view engaging video content directly on the product page.

Can videos autoplay?

Yes, autoplay is enabled by default, and for some video content, you can control autoplay settings through the theme editor.

Can users control video playback?

In the Video section, users always have control over playback. For some video blocks, you can choose whether to display playback controls or not. However, if autoplay is turned off in the settings, controls will always be shown.

Is it possible to use different videos for desktop and mobile?

In some video blocks, you can add both a default video and a separate video for mobile. For example, this is possible in the Hero Promo section blocks.


What type of video file should I use?

When uploading videos to Shopify, it's important to use the recommended file formats to ensure smooth playback and optimal performance. To keep your store running efficiently, consider compressing videos to reduce file size while maintaining quality.
