You have picked a theme, added your products and built your homepage. Everything is in place, yet the page still looks like a stack of blocks: a banner, a product grid, some text, another banner. Each section ends in a straight line, and the next one starts as if it had nothing to do with the one before.
The Taiga Askel theme, our new preset for sports and performance brands, shows one way to do it: with the space between sections.
What makes a store feel designed
You don't need a designer to borrow a designer's habits. Repeat one or two colors so the eye learns them. Repeat shapes, so different parts of your store feel related. And plan the transitions, so moving from one section to the next feels intentional.
In your store, those transitions happen between sections, and that is where section dividers come in. A section divider is a decorative shape between two sections of a page. Instead of a straight line, the section ends in a curve, an angle, a row of arrows or another shape.
Dividers are small, but they can appear on every page you build. That makes them an easy place to put your brand to work.
Four ways to give your store a signature look
One accent color, repeated
Pick one or two brand colors and repeat them in the same place across your pages, and they start to feel like your signature. Askel does this with a green-to-yellow gradient that runs through its dividers from the first image to the footer.
Photos that flow into the page
Let your photos flow into the next section instead of ending in a hard edge, and even the photos you take yourself look more finished. In Askel, the divider sits on top of the hero image, so the photo curves into the product section below.

Color changes that feel planned
When the page moves from one mood to another, connect the two sections so the change looks planned. In Askel, a thin gradient line joins a dark customer-quote section and a green campaign section. The divider follows your color schemes automatically, so you don't have to match colors by hand.
Movement where it counts
Save motion for the places where you want attention, and keep the rest of the page calm. Askel uses moving chevrons to pull the eye toward the next product story and slow-moving mountains before the newsletter sign-up. Visitors who prefer less motion see the dividers standing still.

Make it yours
Your brand has its own colors and its own character. The Divider section in the theme editor lets you bring both in, whether you keep Askel's look as a starting point or make it entirely your own.
- Swap Askel's gradient for your own brand color, or blend your brand colors into a gradient.
- Try another shape. Next to the curve, the chevrons and the mountains, you can choose waves, folded and jagged edges and more.
- Use your own shape. Upload an SVG graphic, such as a brushstroke or the outline of your logo, and add a separate version for mobile if you like.
- Flip a shape so it faces up or down, left or right.
- Adjust the size separately for desktop and mobile, so the shape looks right on every screen.
A good way to start is to try a few shapes first. When one feels right, add your brand color to make it yours.
All of these divider features are available in every Taiga preset from Taiga version 9.0.0 onward, so the same approach works whichever Taiga look you start from.
Section dividers: quick answers
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Add the Divider section between two sections in the theme editor and choose a shape. Start with the default colors, then adjust them to match your brand.
Can I use my own shape?
Yes. Upload your own SVG graphic, and a separate one for mobile if you like.
Do dividers work on mobile?
Yes. You can set the size and spacing separately for desktop and mobile.
What about visitors who prefer less motion?
If a visitor has turned on reduced motion on their device, animated dividers are shown without movement.
