For many premium brands, a higher price tag isn’t a hurdle, it’s a story of quality. But customers today want to know why a t-shirt costs €100 or why a handmade vase is worth the investment.
The Price Transparency section in the Taiga theme, featured beautifully in the Meadow preset, allows you to break down your costs, materials, labor, logistics, and margin, into a clean, visual chart. By being open about your pricing logic, you build the kind of trust that drives conversions without needing to hit the "discount" button.
Before You Start: The "100%" Rule
The Price Transparency section works on percentages. You will assign a percentage of the "Total Price" to different categories (e.g., 20% for Materials).
Note: The theme does not automatically validate your math. To ensure the visual chart looks correct, make sure all your individual "Price row" blocks add up to exactly 100%.
How To Set Up Price Transparency
-
Add the section
Open the Shopify Theme Editor, go to your Product template, and add the Price transparency section. While it can be used anywhere, it works best on product pages. -
Choose your price source
Decide where the total price comes from: use the current product price, select a specific product for a consistent breakdown, or use a metafield for advanced setups. -
Create your price breakdown
Add Price row blocks to define how the price is divided. For each row, choose an icon, add a label (such as “Materials” or “Shipping”), and set the percentage. -
Polish the layout
Adjust the design to match your brand. Choose between theme icons or custom images, select a layout, and fine-tune spacing for different screen sizes.

Pro-Tips for Better Transparency
-
Keep it Simple: We recommend using 3 to 5 rows. Too many rows can make your pricing look overly complex and confuse the customer.
-
Be Honest About Margin: Including an "Our Margin" or "Profit" row can actually increase trust. It shows you are running a sustainable business, not hiding "hidden fees."
How Taiga Makes This Easier
Creating a custom price breakdown might require a developer or a third-party app that can slow down your site. Taiga includes this as a native section. In the Meadow preset, the styling is already optimized for a high-end, transparent brand identity, allowing you to simply plug in your percentages and go live.
