One of the biggest hurdles in online shopping is the "will it fit?" question. When customers are unsure, they either don't buy at all or they buy two sizes and return one, both of which hurt your bottom line.

In the Taiga Meadow theme, you don't need a complex third-party app to solve this. The built-in true-to-size block (called Attribute insights in the editor) allows you to add a clean, visual scale directly to your product information, showing at a glance if an item runs small, large, or perfectly true to size.

Why this matters for your store
- Reduces Returns: Sets accurate expectations before the "Add to Cart" click.
- Reduces Purchase Hesitation: By answering fit questions upfront, you eliminate the mental friction that often causes customers to abandon their carts at the final step.
- Better Performance: Because this is built into the theme code, it loads instantly without the lag often caused by external sizing apps.
How to Add the True to size Block
Setting up your fit guide takes just a few minutes in the Shopify Theme Editor.
Steps
-
Navigate to product template
In the Shopify Admin, go to Online Store > Themes, find your Taiga theme, and click Edit theme. Navigate to a product page template.
-
Add the Attribute insights
In the sidebar, locate the Product section. Click Add block and find the Attribute insights.
-
Define the Attribute
Attribute title: Enter a label like "Fit" or "Sizing” or leave empty.
Attribute value: This is usually connected to a Dynamic Source (like a Metafield) so that each product can show its own unique value (0–100).
-
Choose Your Display Type
You can choose how the information looks:
Slider: A pointer on a horizontal scale.
Fill: A bar that fills up to the value.
Segments: A divided bar.
-
Set Your Labels
To make the scale readable, fill in the Labels section:
Start: e.g., "Runs small"
Center: e.g., "True to size"
End: e.g., "Runs large"
Adding Threshold Messages
To be even more helpful, you can enable Threshold messages. This allows you to show specific text based on the value. For example:
- Below 35: "We recommend ordering one size up."
- Between 35 and 65: "Go for your usual size."
- Above 65: "We recommend ordering one size down."

Practical Use Cases Beyond Clothing
While "True to size" is the most common use, this block is incredibly flexible. You can use it for:
- Food & Beverage: A "Spiciness" scale (Mild to Extra Hot).
- Beauty: "Skin type" suitability (Dry to Oily).
- Hobby/Gear: "Skill level" (Beginner to Pro).
- Home Goods: "Firmness" for mattresses or pillows.
Tips for High-Conversion Placement
- Place it near the Variant Picker: Put the block right above or below your size selector.
- Keep it Simple: Use clear, high-contrast labels. Avoid jargon.
- Use Helper Splitters: When the “Slider” display type is selected, enable "Show helper splitters" to improve readability.
